Water Business Group Project Controls Business Class Lead

As a Project Controls Business Class Lead in HDR's Water Business Group, you will shape and implement project controls practices across water projects to meet scope, schedule, and budget goals. You'll lead a team of controls professionals, develop standards and templates, and mentor staff while collaborating with cross-functional leaders. Your work supports safe water delivery, flood control, and resilient infrastructure, contributing to HDR's mission of meaningful impact. This role offers visibility across programs and the chance to drive continuous improvement in project delivery.

• Lead and coordinate project controls across the Water Business Group to drive schedule, cost, change, risk, and document management
• Develop and implement project controls templates and plans (cost, schedule, progress) and ensure alignment with Quality Management System
• Build and mentor a team of project controls personnel, including staffing, training, and career development
• Collaborate with program managers, Directors of Operations, and other leaders to share best practices and prioritize initiatives
• Provide governance on project performance, reporting to HDR stakeholders and clients, and identify improvements for efficiency and quality
• Support pursuit teams and program management with right-sized project controls strategies and tools
• Develop and maintain a centralized project controls practice group within WBG and promote knowledge sharing
• Coordinate with regional leads for workshare, lessons learned, and community of practice
• Oversee recruitment onboarding of project controls staff and engage external partners as needed
• For programs, establish and maintain a framework covering scope, budget, schedule, and risk across workstreams

• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years of project controls experience on engineering/construction projects
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders
• Experience with proposal development, contract review, and client relationship management
• Willingness to support HDR's employee-owned culture
